Wind Bunker

The Wind Bunker is a three-story structure with a unique design that functions as a vertical yacht storage facility. The lower level features a square and a yacht repair area, while the middle level serves as the yacht storage area and the upper level functions as a club. The back of the building is equipped with a lifting device for yacht parking. The entire structure is made of a single-span black concrete frame with core tubes on both sides and anti-lateral triangular shear walls in the middle section. At first glance, the Wind Shed appears to be a highly unique case. Its skeletal framework, which incorporates sailing events, conveys the determination of the local community to develop the yacht industry. However, in reality, it reflects a response to the instability of functionality. This instability is further exacerbated in the current context of physical space surplus and virtual space explosion, where we face a lack of functionality or flash. Therefore, the affordance serves as a delayed strategy and is maximally released within an economical framework. This extreme utilitarianism brings about a new kind of poetry.
